Love Never Leaves You How It Found You

Love never leaves you how it found you.

Every experience we have in life molds us into the next version of ourselves.

We begin this human experience soft, as pure love. Our only innate desire is to love & be loved…

But, just like clay exposed to the elements, life can harden us. We can become rigid. With that rigidity, we can break.

But, underneath that hard outer shell, at the core, we’re still the soft, lovable being we began this life as…

We are love in human form. We never lose that… we just forget it from time to time.

But, experiencing the love of another, has the ability to wreck us in the most beautiful, magnificent way…

We don’t need another human to experience love, we have the ability to love within us. It’s what we are… but love & connection with another human can show us all the places we’re hiding our true, authentic selves, if we let it…

I have a girlfriend, who after she got to know me on a deeply personal level as I moved through some of the hardest, most painful experiences of my life, said to me:

“Stacie! You’re hard on the outside, but gooey on the inside… I had no idea!”

She saw how I was hiding my true self from others as a way to appear to be “tough” in an attempt to stay “safe”… but, what I was really doing was building a fortress, which not only made my world very small, but it also held in my pain within its walls. With her love, she made me see how I was preventing the thing that would heal me & what my soul most deeply desired - love & connection with others.

Whenever I experience the love of another, on any level, I am shaped by that experience…

It’s not love that hardens me…

It’s when I don’t let love in fully that I harden. If I do that too often, I find myself breaking again & again.

Love never leaves us how it found us…

The possibilities of how love can shape us are endless… if we let it. We don’t lose ourselves in love… No. We become ourselves fully, in love.

I will never regret loving someone… even if the relationship ends, and I’m left feeling like a mushy pile of goo… I know that experience didn’t take anything from me… it simply cracked open one of my many hard outer shells, and is showing me a part of myself I had forgotten existed. Because of this, I have nothing but love & gratitude for everyone who has broken my heart throat my lifetime. With every ending, I have the opportunity to mold myself into the woman I was destined to be. I just have to stay open for love to touch me again. ❤️

XO,

Stacie
