The Secret To Lasting Change

Change doesn’t happen on a cognitive level. Change happens on an embodied level.

We can’t think our way into change… we have to act.

We can’t plan our way into change… we have to do.

We can’t pray our way into change… we have to move.

Analysis paralysis happens around change when we’re trying to be perfect…

But, there is no such thing as perfect. It’s a fantasy, and believing we can perfectly orchestrate change in our lives keeps us stuck…

Change, of any kind, is messy….

But, allowing ourselves to move through change imperfectly is how we begin to transform our lives… Because at least we’re taking action.

“A ship is safe in the harbor, but that’s not what ships are built for.” -John A. Shedd

You are not meant to stay in the harbor.

To truly change anything in your life, you have to get out of your head, and get into your body. It takes 300 reps of something new to create “muscle memory” where a new behavior becomes automatic… it takes 3,000 reps for that new behavior to become embodied…

When we embody change, it becomes who we are, and it no longer takes effort to behave in that way… it becomes our new normal.

But, to start the process of change, you first have to take action…

Allow yourself to make “mistakes” on the journey, then simply course correct. (I don’t believe in mistakes… I believe in misaligned decisions)

Every time you show up & complete the new behavior- celebrate that sh*t. Every. Single. Time. If you can find joy in the process, you’ll stick with it, and eventually you’ll hit that 3,000 reps… you will be a new person & your life will transform.

Whatever you desire is available to you… you just have to be willing to move towards it.

Stacie
