Which sh*t sandwich do you want?

Which sh*t sandwich do you want?

I know that’s a gross statement, but hear me out…

I am all about creating the life you want. I don’t believe we should stay in relationships, jobs, etc. just because that’s what we’re told we “should” do. Settling leads to resentment, which then leads to unhealthy coping mechanisms, followed by a whole host of other problems like self-sabotage, depression, anxiety, and more…

However, there are times in life where things are sh*tty & hard. These times are usually associated with growth & change…

Whether it’s changing our habits to get healthy, starting a new career, or hitting a bumpy time in a relationship, etc.

In these instances we have to decide…

Which sh*t sandwich do I want?

Changing our diet, exercising & going to bed early are hard & take discipline… but, feeling terrible, with no energy, is hard too.

Learning a new skill in a new environment of a new career is challenging, and mistakes & failure are inevitable during the learning process… but, is going back to what we outgrew better? There was a reason we left - it could be stress, financial reasons, or simply that the old career no longer challenged us. Not being an expert is hard, but so is shrinking.

Going through rough patches in relationships is hard… but so is starting all over in a new one. There is no right or wrong… not all relationships are meant to be forever, and walking away is by no means a failure. But, the grass is green where you water it… the hard work of relating is inevitable, no matter who you is on the other end of the relationship… even the relationship with yourself.

Things shouldn’t be hard forever… finding ease & flow in life is what allows us to fully enjoy life, but sometimes before we find that ease, which find ourselves being served sh*t sandwiches…

It’s up to us to decide how to make it more palatable. (Sorry for the gross analogy, but it’s the most accurate analogy I can think of at the moment 😂(

We make the “sh*t sandwich” more palatable by changing our perspective & finding gratitude… because the alternative is starvation. We don’t have to eat sh*t. Instead, we can take that sh*t & use it as a fertilizer to create a lush, flourishing landscape of the life of our dreams.

You were put here, in this experience, for a reason. Trust, fertilize & make it beautiful. 🌺

XO,

Stacie
