You Can’t Make This Shit Up

You can’t make this shit up.

If I were to write a movie of actual events that have occurred in my life, people would say it’s too far-fetched… there’s no way that’s real.

My EMS partner & I used to say this about working in EMS… if we were to write a movie script of actual calls we ran, with dialogue that was verbatim & events exactly as they transpired… people would probably walk out of the theater because they would think there’s no possible way anything like that could ever happen…

But, it did. I was there.

Life is messy & magical all at once. It’s mundane & remarkable.

When I look back at my life, it’s impossible to ignore the Divinely guided path I’ve been led down… events that happened, and decisions I made… they all led me to where & who I am now. At the moment a lot of those events felt scary & stressful… mainly because of the pressure I put on myself to make the “right” decision…

But, I no longer believe in “right” or “wrong” decisions - there are only decisions… some times they work out as planned, and sometimes a lesson is learned. Either way, life is moving forward…

It’s simply my choice whether I grow as a person & expand my perspective…

I’ve found that what’s caused me the most distress is when I refuse to change my perspective - when I hold onto the belief that things “should” be different. It’s distressing because the reality of what is doesn’t match the false reality in my mind… when I finally accept reality, I am able to find the lesson, which makes me feel empowered to create a new reality that I desire.

Nothing is random… we only think it is because we’re not paying attention.

Instead of asking “Why is this happening to me?”…

Ask yourself “How is this happening for me?”

As Einstein famously said: 'There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.'

The fact that any of us are here, at this very moment, is a miracle…

I choose to appreciate the miraculousness of it all - even the mundane because in the mundane there are moments of joy & peace… moments where I can just “be”. If I’m not intentional about appreciating each moment, life feels monotonous & not very pleasurable… because I’m missing it - this life I’ve been given. My soul didn’t come to this plane of existence to simply survive & stress about things that don’t really matter. My soul came here to experience everything that it is to be human - big & small, good & “bad” - so that’s what I intend to do, with gratitude for the opportunity.💖

How about you?

XO,

Stacie
